The Admissions office has an admission assistant opening available with various hours 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The student will assist the admissions team in the effort of student enrollment, promotion of university education through various means of communication. The requirements for the candidate include oral and written communication skills, ability to work as a team, and a positive attitude. The Adult Recruitment office has a student worker position open between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The student will answer multi-line phone, provide customer service, prepare recruitment materials, assist recruitment representatives prepare for education fairs, orientations and open houses, mail packets to prospective students, pack supplies, and campus wide errands. The requirements for the candidate include multi-tasking, learning quickly, possessing a professional appearance, independently performing tasks, and knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007. The Alumni Office has an Alumni newsletter editor-in-training position available. The position will assist the Alumni director and the current student editor with writing articles for the Campus Connection and Friends Flash! alumni newsletters. In this position the student will also learn how to use QuarkXPress, online programming software, and the basic process and procedures for completing each of the newsletters. Upon the graduation of the current student editor, this position will assume full responsibility and duties as the student editor for the alumni newsletters. The requirements for the candidate include excellent writing and communication skills, knowledge of Macintosh software and Microsoft Office. The Davis Communication Center has a print and mail attendant opening available with various hours from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The student will be responsible for mail sorting, delivery and processing incoming copies, faxes, and printing, and delivery of supplies and paper to departments on campus. The requirements for the candidate include a willingness to spend time outside delivering packages, able to lift 50 pounds of weight without limitations, ability to interact and communicate with customers, peers, and supervisor. The dean’s office has a student sssistant job opening with flexible hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The student will perform general office/clerical work such as typing, filing, errands, answering telephones, routing calls, taking messages, copies, setting appointments, distributing mail, and other various duties. The requirements for the candidate include dependability, business casual attire, confidentiality, and knowledge of Microsoft office is preferred. The department of Food Service has a cashier/food preparation opening from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday throguh Friday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The student will open and close cashier station, post meal charges, make change for cash purchases, and assist with salad bar/food preparation as needed. The requirements for the candidate include an ability to handle money, basic computer, clerical, and cash knowledge; and obtain a (free) food handlers permit. The department of Food Service has a line server position available from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The student will assist with food station preparation as needed; serve food to dining patrons, clean station at closing, and assist team members as needed.
