Friends University's Wichita campus will celebrate the success of its 2009 graduates at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at Kansas Coliseum. Graduates who will be participating in the ceremony should check in at the coliseum by 2 p.m.

- Master of Arts in Teaching, School Leadership and Christian Ministry: 10:30 a.m. at University Friends Church
- Topeka Educational Center Graduation Reception: 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at the Capital Plaza Hotel
- Lenexa Educational Center:
- A reception for graduating undergraduate students is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 4, at the Lenexa Educational Center at 8207 Melrose Drive. Please RSVP to Carolyn McLachlan by April 24 at 913-233-8717 or cmclachlan@friends.edu.

MAKING TRAVEL PLANS
If you plan to stay in the Wichita area for Friends University Commencement events, please note that it will be a busy weekend in the city with several large events going on, including the annual Wichita RiverFest. So, plan to book early!
- Wichita Area Hotels: There are several hotels in the greater Wichita close to the University campus and downtown. VisitWichita.com offers some suggestions.
- We also suggest that you expand your search to include lodging near the Kansas Coliseum if necessary. The following links are to Park City and Newton locations, which are only about five to 10 minutes from the Coliseum and about 20 minutes to the Wichita downtown area.
- Wichita Airport Information: Mid-Continent Airport is the major airport serving the Wichita metropolitan area. Flights arrive from Chicago, Dallas, Denver and other major cities in the Midwest on a daily basis. Wichita is a 3 hour drive from both the Kansas City and Oklahoma City airports. Directions: Exit Kellogg at West Street and continue on the front access road in front of Town West Mall.
- Hampton Inn — (316) 945-4100, 3800 West Kellogg — This is close to the University and to Town West Mall. Directions: Exit Kellogg at West Street, hotel immediately to the right off of the exit.
